Our Story
For more than 10 years, Rebuild Leaders has offered retreats and breaks to Pastors, and Senior Leaders at Sound Church’s retreat apartment. Having not been able to find retreats for those in independent and non-denomination Betsy started Rebuild Leaders to offer a place of healing, peace and restoration.

Betsy grew up as a daughter of a vicar and granddaughter of a bishop. Whilst she deeply appreciated the opportunity to develop a faith in Jesus that helped strengthen her through many different traumatic seasons, she was also quite determined from a young age to make the church experience more trauma informed. She was frustrated by the lack of understanding of child development and children's needs, the lack of safeguarding, the lack of understanding of young people, lack of teaching around shame, humanity, vulnerability, emotions and relationships despite these themes being very much within the Bible.
